RAK ICC was establish in 2016 to overseas the two Free Zones in Ras Al Khaimah - RAK Free Trade Zone (RAK FTZ) and RAK Investment Authority (RAKIA) - offering variety of customized –and cost effective solutions to non-free zone business, known as International Business Companies (IBC) or Offshore Companies, RAK International Corporate Centre (RAK ICC) became the No1 destination for investors from all over the world.
Ras Al Khaimah Investment Authority (RAKIA) started applying the Offshore company concept in 2007, since then it allowed more offshore companies to start their businesses there. RAK free zone has more advantages than other free zones, such as having no restrictions on the types of offshore business set up. However, it is not allowed to conduct any bank or Insurance business activities as well as do any business within the UAE.
Offshore companies do not have physical offices in UAE and are not considered as local companies, even though they are registered in the UAE. The purpose of registering UAE offshore company can be but not limited to international trading activities, holding company, or any other business activity apart of restricted one such as bank and insurance.
To register an offshore company in the UAE you need to approach a RAK registered agent. This is an official agent who is acting as an intermediary between the clients and RAK International Corporate Centre.
